Forest music class

At first we asked children to tell us in singing what will they see when they go to the forest. The children answered in singing that they will see trees, birds and squirrels.

Then we went to the forest. Before we were going to cross the street, we read together the poem “Roadway” to remind how to behave on the street and which  dangers are around us.

When we arrived in the forest, we whispered “Hello”  to the forest. Then we waited to get the answer. Children were exited because there were so many voices in the forest.
We watched what sort of trees are around us, which one of them are with leaves and which one are conifers. After that we compared which trees were taller and which trees were shorter.

We gave a hug to the trees because trees are our friends and they want to be hugged. After that we asked children to collect five large leaves and five small leaves. It wasn`t easy exercise at all, most of the children just picked up the leaves and didn`t count them at all.

Later we spoke about spring. What does it look like –windy, rainy and the leaves are falling.
After short walking we met a strange house. It was an anthill and many ants lived there. Including an old man and a lady. One of them were sleeping but others were awake. We took coniferouses and sang a sleepingsong to the ants. After that we placed our coniferouses in the anthill and wished them a nice and warm sleep.
Then we took a little walk in the forest to find a musical instrument.

One of the children found wooden sticks, others found cones, but finally all the children took wooden sticks and we made a beautiful forestmusic and sang a song named: “Deer`s house in the wood”.  And made deer`s horns with our wooden sticks.
Suddenly there was a bear, peaking behind the tree and calling children to play with her.

Every children found a tree- this tree was his/her home and then the bear became to catch them.
After playing we were exhausted and lay down to watch the sky.

Children talked about what they had seen in the sky. They had seen the lion, stars, different shapes and even a horse. Later in the classroom the children told me what they liked most. Children were fascinated in bear and anthill.
