Experiments with water

Water has the ability to keep things on its surface. Why? Experiment. We took a jar of cold water, a slip of paper a needle and a dishwashing liguid.

We pour lots of cold water into a plastic  box.

The box is almost full.

Carefully we put a slip of paper on the surface of water and then we put a needle on the top.

Needle a slip of paper buoy

We submerge the slip of paper and needle floats. We instill one droplet of dishwashing  liguid.
A needle sank.

Chemical elements destroy the properties of water to carry items in its surface.
